The chest pain is one of the most frightening symptoms a person may have, it is sometimes difficult even for a physician or other medical professional know what is causing this pain and if it is a threat to life, which is due to consider:

Any part of the chest can cause pain, including the heart, lungs, esophagus, muscle, bone and skin.

Due to the complex distribution of nerves in the body, chest pain may be from another body part.

The stomach or other organs in the belly (abdomen), for example, can cause chest pain.

Two life-threatening situations are:

A heart attack happens when blood flow to the arteries that pump the heart (coronary arteries) becomes blocked. With decreased blood flow, heart muscle not receiving enough oxygen and this can cause damage, deterioration and death of heart muscle.

Angina is chest pain related to an imbalance between oxygen demand of the heart and the amount of oxygen supplied by blood. It is caused by blockage or narrowing of blood vessels that supply blood to the heart. Angina is different from a heart attack because the arteries are not completely blocked and causes little or no permanent damage to the heart. There are two types: “Stable” angina occurs when repetitive and predictable in the exercise and disappears with rest. “Unstable” angina pectoris is unusual and unpredictable results and the pain is not relieved by rest.
