- If you do not understand something, ask the person to repeat what he says slowly.
- If you communicate with someone, avoid distractions around you (radio, TV on, noise). Choose a calm and familiar conversation.
- Write the points you need not try to forget you.

Planning the future:

- Your life is yours until the last minute. Although it is difficult, decide and let the written health care instructions and/or destination of your belongings for your family to be very clear what your wishes.
- Prepare your will and/or the judiciary so that the person you choose can access your accounts and make medical decisions on your behalf when you are not in position to do so.
- Have a blast
- Be sure to do the activities that have always given you pleasure: a cinema, a good read, the company of friends. Let all that continue to give meaning to your life, especially now.
- Look after your health: eat well and stay active. Take your medicine and follow the instructions of your doctor.
- Do not isolate yourself. Your old friends, your family, your church group … everyone will be more than happy to help. Accept that help.

- Performs tasks are harder for you in the times of day when you feel in a better mood and energy.
Keep medicines in a place accessible and visible. Place a board with them to the doses and the times you have to take them.
- If you have trouble some specific task, such as making payments or balance a checkbook, do not hesitate to ask for help from someone you trust. If you can make automatic payments through your bank, the better. In the long run, you must appoint someone to make financial decisions on your behalf and be responsible with your spending. - If you are confused, stop and try the task again when you feel more alert.
- If your budget allows, hire one or more people you help with household chores (cleaning house, washing clothes, cooking, keep the garden)
- Step by step instructions placed next to the devices or appliances (clothes washer or the computer), and large print clearly.
- Organize your closets and drawers (a beloved family member can help) so you can find what you need quickly.
- By doing your shopping, food Stock up on canned or dry reserve, water, and products that you can freeze. So you will always have food available at home.

Watch out for your safety:

- Have you checked the smoke alarms in the house. They should be running smoothly, if you forget to turn off the stove.
- Simplify your life and your home: Remove the furniture and objects that are not needed. Then you will have fewer obstacles that could cause falls and less work to maintain and to clean them. Eliminates paper, magazines and books you no longer need that can accumulate dust, mold and even cause fires.
- Install grab bars in the bathroom.
- If you drive, you always take the written directions to your destination and return home. When you begin to experience a lot of confusion, stop driving. Ask someone else to take you to the doctors’ visits and other places you should go.
- Get help with transportation, depending on your age, maybe these services exist in your community. Asesórate with your doctor and/or social worker to indicate whether you are community programs that offer these services for people like you.

When added to the confusion forgetting those attributed to the years, the “pains” of the age … until they were no more excuses to justify so much damage and you were diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. More than 5.4 million people in the United States alone, face today, like you, to the disease. Many are in the care of their family or an institution, but many others want to live as independently as they can until the disease is prevented. Is it possible?

Despite a difficult diagnosis, every minute of your life is now worth more lucid and important than ever. So you can enjoy with dignity, strength and joy you need a plan and we will help you formulate it. Do not waste time!

Alzheimer’s, the most common form of dementia, brain damage capabilities such as memory, deductions and knowledge progressively. According to the Alzheimer’s Disease International in 2008, there were an estimated 30 million people worldwide with dementia with 4.6 million new cases each year (one every 7 minutes).

Alzheimer’s disease progresses through stages that can take several years depending on the patient. Living with Alzheimer’s is a real challenge: it is difficult to remember things, make decisions, perform common tasks … There are bad days and better ones, but each is a moment that you take with all your energy. Here are a few suggestions to provide you a life as independently as possible.

To help you remember:
- Put a list of important phone numbers by the phone (close relatives, doctors, pharmacy or any other number you dial frequently).
- Keep a calendar (or several) in a visible place. Mark the dates of medical appointments and other important events. Ask a family member or close friend to remind you with a phone call, a date or appointment you can not ignore.
- Make a folder on the box or you keep your documents (IDs, insurance policies, bank accounts). Keep it all in one place for you easier to locate any information you need. A close relative and trust should also know where you keep these vital documents in case of emergency.
- Write the names of loved ones in your pictures. So you can better associate faces with names. Write any story or memory, or record your memories. Do not let the disease seizes those beautiful memories you and your family will value immensely.
- Always carry a notebook to jot down names, phone numbers, any information you need and your address and the best way to reach your home.
- Place labels on the drawers so you know what they contain and you can find what you need without frustrated.

Sometimes an antidepressant or other psychiatric medication can provide relief for physical symptoms that result from somatization disorder.

However, in most cases, treatment aims to deal with minor problems such as labor issues and the functioning in society, as well as any additional symptoms of anxiety or depression. Psychotherapy may help the patient deal with chronic physical discomfort and understand how to handle it.

People with somatization disorder may have difficulty accepting a referral to a mental health professional or to accept that evaluation and medical treatment may not relieve symptoms. These patients are particularly sensitive to the stigma associated with mental disorders. Also, sometimes these mental disorders are ruled out by a subgroup of physicians who see these symptoms as a legitimate cause for concern.

If possible, it is best if the physician and mental health professionals work together because this way assesses the patient’s physical symptoms while he helps manage the frustration of not reaching a diagnosis or plan clear treatment. It may be possible that patients receive help treating any anxiety disorder and depression present, helping to manage conflict in your home and finding ways to help it function well.

Duration

Somatization disorder is a chronic (long) usually begins before age 25 or 30 years, but may begin in adolescence and can persist for several years.

Prevention

Although there is no way to prevent somatization disorder, proper diagnosis of it can help the person avoid excessive medical tests. This means a challenge for the person with the disorder and the doctor, because new symptoms could be caused by a medical problem that is not somatization disorder.

When To Call a Professional

The faster a mental health professional evaluate the patient, faster result will help deal with the consequences of this disorder, such as exposure to unnecessary evaluation and treatment, difficulty with relationships and poor productivity at work. However, a person with this disorder may avoid treatment when you visit a mental health professional.

Forecast

The drugs may provide some relief. Psychotherapy works long term because the person probably has lived with the disorder for a long time before receiving treatment. It is hard to abandon the model long-time behavior, however, with persistence and support, you may make progress.

Even if you are already working as a trainer, personal trainer courses may be beneficial to you, as this may increase your earnings. If you are looking to break into this field, then you must consider completing coursework prior to seeking employment in order to place yourself in the best position to be offered a higher starting salary. The higher your starting salary, the greater your lifetime earning potential may be.

The old saying, “the more you learn, the more you earn” certainly does apply to the physical fitness industry. Employers want to know that you have what it takes to work for them, and one of the best ways to prove this is by including education in your list of qualifications. Past work experience is helpful, but may not be required if you have the education and skills that show you are a worthy job candidate.

Personal trainer courses can be completed by anyone at any age. It is often said that it is never too late to begin a new career. It is also never too late to earn more money in your current career. Many employers are willing to pay all, or a portion of the costs of continuing education so long as the classes are within your current field. Be sure to ask your employer if this type of plan is in place, as it will benefit you both.

There are no laboratory tests to determine whether a person has somatization disorder. The doctor may suspect this condition when the person complains several times over the years and shows few signs of possible medical condition to define.

The doctor may perform tests to detect diseases that could be seen as somatization disorder, such as multiple sclerosis and systemic lupus erythematosus (lupus), or fibromyalgia syndrome, chronic fatigue syndrome and irritable bowel syndrome.

If the doctor thinks that a person has somatization disorder, the patient should check for signs of depression and anxiety and referral to a mental health professional for further examination.

A person with somatization disorder is a chronic concern for their “somatic” symptoms over the years. However, no psychiatric diagnosis fails to explain the symptoms as a whole. These symptoms cause distress or incapacitate a person to function normally.

The person does not “pretend.” Somatization disorder is a medical problem. However, this disorder is probably related to brain function and emotional regulation and not the body area that has become the center of patient care. The symptoms are real and the person has no conscious control of the same.

People with somatization disorder reported medical problems over the years, affecting many areas of the body. For example, the same person could have back pain, headaches, chest discomfort, upset stomach and urinary tract discomfort. Women often report irregular menstrual periods, while men may experience erectile dysfunction (impotence). The person may:

* Describe symptoms in dramatic and emotional terms
* Seek help more than one doctor at the same time
Describe symptoms in vague terms
* Lack of specific signs that describe a disease
* Complain that medical tests fail to help

Many people with psychiatric illness do not describe their symptoms in dramatic terms. Therefore, if the person behaves in a dramatic way, this does not necessarily mean that the person suffers from somatization disorder.

People with somatization disorder also have another diagnosable medical condition, so doctors must be careful not to dismiss the symptoms quickly.

A person with somatization disorder may also have symptoms of anxiety and depression. The person may begin to feel useless and attempt suicide, or may have trouble adjusting to the stresses of life. The person may use alcohol or drugs, including prescription drugs.

Spouses and family members may be anxious because the patient’s symptoms continue for long periods of time and no medical treatment seems to help.

The symptoms of somatization disorder vary across cultures. Cultural factors also affect the proportions of men and women with this disorder.

Women, relatives of people with somatization disorder are more likely to develop the disorder.

The men, relatives of patients with this disorder are more likely to become alcoholics and personality disorders present.

Although scientists have some theories, know what causes some of the symptoms reported by people with somatization disorder. It is possible, for example, that people with this disorder perceive in an unusual body sensations. The trauma and stress may alter the physical sensations of the person.

There are numerous theories about the potential benefits of massage therapy, although there are few studies on how it works. Preliminary evidence suggests promising that massage might be beneficial for lung function of children with asthma. However, the data are inconclusive.

In a new study, 60 children with asthma were randomized to receive either daily 20 minutes of massage therapy by their parents at home for five weeks in addition to usual care for asthma, or a control group would receive only the care normal (without massage). Several tests were performed lung function in the first and last day of treatment, including spirometry, which measures the volume of air that can be inhaled or exhaled, and forced expiratory volume in one second, which measures the speed of air leaving of the lungs.

The researchers found that at the end of the study, forced expiratory flow was significantly higher for children in the massage therapy group, compared with the control group. There was also a significant improvement to the relationship between forced expiratory flow and forced vital capacity (ie the volume of air that can be forced out after a full inspiration or inhalation). There were no other significant improvements in pulmonary function tests, including peak expiratory flow.

The study authors concluded that massage therapy can improve lung function in children with asthma. However, further studies are well designed to confirm these findings.

For mild cases of RSV infection, treatment is aimed at making the patient feel good. Treatment may include:

* A medication for fever and pain, for example, acetaminophen (Tylenol and others) or ibuprofen (Advil and others)
* Drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration
* Bed rest
* A humidifier to soothe the throat and nose and possibly a cough
* Saline nose drops (saltwater)
* Bulb syringe to gently loosen the mucus that blocks the nose of the baby or child

Babies and young children with severe infection may require hospitalization for RSV. At the hospital, the infant or child may receive oxygen, fluids (in the vein) and medications to help you breathe better. The infant or child could receive aerosolized ribavirin. Ribavirin is an antiviral medication that is rarely used to treat RSV infections. However, it has been shown to help much and it is difficult to give and is very expensive.

When To Call a Professional

Call your doctor immediately if your infant or younger child has:

* High fever
* Severe coughing
* Wheezing
* Difficulty feeding
* Shortness of breath
* Breathing abnormally fast
* Complains
* Widens his nostrils
* Chest retractions
* Blueness of the lips or nails of the fingers

If you have a premature or with respiratory problems or other serious health problems, talk to your doctor about the need for your baby to take preventive medicines during the season from late fall through early spring.

Forecast

Most RSV infections go away completely and leave no lasting effects. With proper diagnosis and proper treatment, most babies and children recovering from serious respiratory disease caused by RSV infections. Deaths from RSV infections are relatively rare, but infections can cause signs of RSV in infants 2 to 6 months with high risk and older people with immune system problems. Children with RSV bronchiolitis during infancy have a slightly increased risk of recurrent wheeze as they grow. RSV is unknown if the cause or whether children are more likely to suffer from asthma are more likely to get sick if exposed to RSV during infancy.
