Respiratory acidosis is a condition that occurs when the lungs can not remove all the carbon dioxide produced by the body. This makes the interference in the body, which is not a balance between acid-base. Body fluids become very acidic.

Respiratory acidosis can be caused by lung diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and severe asthma. Other conditions that can cause Respiratory acidosis include:

* Airway obstruction

Symptoms may include shortness of breath, easy fatigue, chronic cough, or wheezing.

Respiratory acidosis occurs over a long period of time. This leads to a stable situation. This is because the kidneys increase chemicals that help restore the body’s acid-base balance.
