<p>According to macrobiotic, all phenomena and processes of change are governed by forces called Yin and Yang, which are in constant transformation, the first has the following characteristics: expansion, darkness, weakness, delicacy, introverted, cold, liquid , passive, feminine and contemplative, while the second includes contraction, light, activity, material, durability, openness, warmth, masculine and solid.</p>
<p>By locating the features of Yin and Yang in humans and the environment is possible to find a balance through diet, and in winter (Yin) Yang foods should be eaten, they have the feature to provide heat and power, for example, cereal , beans, canned vegetables or root, pumpkin, apple, dried fruit, seaweed and seeds, among others. <p><strong>Origins</strong></p>
<p>The story goes that a man named <em><strong>George Ohsawa</strong></em>, who was born in Japan in 1893, at age 20 achieved cure of various diseases through diet, the reason that prompted him to study the properties of foods, their effects on the body and amounts bringing greater benefit, for example, strengthen defenses.</p>
<p>In its guidance to patients, Ohsawa was based on assumptions: What is your goal in life?, What a happy life? and what it means to be healthy?
